This policy describes how the IG Exporter website and the Chrome extension listed as IG Follower Export Tool collect, use, and protect information. We do not collect your Instagram password.
1. Overview
The extension exports Instagram follower and following lists to CSV or Excel files on your device. You do not need an account on this website to use it.
2. Information we handle
2.1 Stored on your device
The extension uses Chrome local storage for:
- Export settings, fast or detailed mode, and interface state
- Export history and cooldown timers
- A random anonymous identifier
- Install time, version, and basic browser environment details
CSV and Excel files are saved through Chrome downloads. We do not upload exported follower lists to our servers.
2.2 Usage analytics
We may send anonymous usage events (version, anonymous id, browser type, language, and event name) to Alibaba Cloud Log Service to keep the extension stable. These events are not used to identify you.
2.3 Instagram fields used for an export
When you start an export, the extension reads profile fields visible in your Instagram browser session, such as username, name, bio, counts, and optional public contact fields in detailed mode. That processing happens in your browser so the file you asked for can be built.
2.4 Pro sign-in
Pro purchases and promo codes are redeemed inside the extension. If you sign in with Google there, that sign-in associates a subscription with the extension profile. We still do not receive your Instagram password.
3. Permissions
- storage — settings and export state on your device
- tabs — the Instagram tab you already opened
- downloads — saving the CSV or Excel file
- instagram.com — reading list and profile data for an export you start

- Run the export you start
- Remember settings and cooldown timers
- Diagnose errors and improve the extension
- See aggregate usage, not a personal profile of you
5. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. Limited technical analytics may be processed by Alibaba Cloud Log Service. Your browser talks to Instagram when a profile loads, under Instagram’s own policies. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
6. Retention
Local extension data stays until you uninstall the extension or clear its storage. Analytics logs are kept for a limited time, then deleted or anonymized. Exported files stay on your computer until you delete them.
7. Security
We use reasonable safeguards for data the extension transmits. No internet transmission is completely secure.
8. Your choices
- Change export settings in the extension popup.
- Uninstall the extension to remove its local data.
- Turn the extension off in Chrome’s extension settings.
9. Children
The extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
10. International use
Analytics may be processed outside your country. Using the extension means you accept that processing as described here.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The date above is the latest revision. Continuing to use the extension after an update means you accept the revised policy.

1. Copyright and permitted use
Only export and keep data you are allowed to access. You are responsible for how you use exported files, including outreach and storage.
2. No bypassing access limits
Do not use the extension to break into private accounts, evade Instagram’s access controls, or collect data from profiles you are not allowed to view.
3. Copyright complaints
If you believe content related to this product infringes your copyright, email us with the URL and a description of the work.
4. Platform disclaimer
IG Exporter has no affiliation, endorsement, or sponsorship relationship with Meta, Instagram, or any other third-party platform.
5. Privacy
